A couple years ago we were fighting to stop Zimbambwe from being colonised by the whites,and now Mugabe seems to be encouraging the Whites to take over the Zimbambwean's Lands.Personally Mugabe is a clever man but he makes me sick!!

Very fundamental. My mother-in-law's elder from the same church as Erasmus said the other day that he does not believe in evolution. He believes that Noah only took freshly weaned animals on board otherwise the dinosaurs could not fit in! AGS is the Apostolic Faith Mission.

On average the earth is around about 4.5 million years old! I think this is a pritty loose guess-tement though! ;D

Thanks for the explanations. I had also wondered about coconut, but you cannot be too careful with the Thought Police watching around here in Euroland. (Oops !).

Some 15 years ago I travelled up country in West Africa (much against advice) and wondered what most of the people did for a living. Everything seemed so laid back but, in reality, probably too bloody hot by half to do anything constructive. But I had never come across a more cheerful and welcoming bunch of people and I reckon they could teach us a thing or two in the West. In fact, I believe that a week or so of the real Africa should be compulsory for all European school-leavers. Make them examine their own values perhaps ? Certainly made me look at mine.

Hi Chris

We're not really better off in the rural areas. There is a minority who became rich because of the black empowerment policies. What the rural people did get is electricity!

A bakkie is a pick-up truck and a mlungu is a white person. A coconut is a black person that is white inside.

Interesting picture. Are they actually better off in the widest sense since before Mandela or at the rural level is it still very much the same ? What is a bakkie and a mlungu ?
